a daydream believer and a homecoming king
i've composed at least 7 different posts in my head in the last 48 hours, but they're all about things that get me riled up and i don't have the energy. so instead i'm focusing on visualizing milo coming home. hey, it works for olympic athletes, so why not for my family?
i realized that our coming home outfits are wintery things. we had two for hans, because we couldn't decide; one was a double layered knit outfit, the other was a sweaterknit jumpsuit. if we put milo in one of those in august, he will suffocate in the five minutes it takes us to get home from the hospital.
so i'm on the hunt. this or maybe this is as close to what i like as i've found, and only online. justin would probably be happy with this for a coming home outfit. but there is absolutely nowhere with baby clothes i really, really dig in the greater cleveland area. maybe i should just order this online for milo (what? too much?).
nevertheless, i'm going to give it a whirl. i'm headed to the mall. there must be something worthy of my little hepcat that won't make his grandmothers hurl in shock.
look at me, planning for the future and all.

Lots of lovely things to choose from there, Laura. (Not sure about the tux, though..!)
Keep thinking about good stuff!
Love the punk baby. I hope it's not discontinued by the time I go looking for it.
And you should go planning for the future. Milo is.
Going home outfits... my, aren't we organized, lol! Hope you find something totally rad for Milo to head home in. And I second what Lorem said! You do have a future with Milo, no matter how long or short. But I bet Milo is really looking forward to becoming a disassociated, pissed-off teen. You can't deny him his birthright!

I'm afraid that our kids teenage rebellion will be in joining the "young republicans" and listening to michael bolton....
ugh, the horror.
Did she say, Arrrrrrrgh, pirate?
Justin -- in high school, my best friend's brother was, indeed, a no-drinking, no-drugs republican, as a rebellion against their hippie dad. It was a hoot!
I do have a suggestion for an excellent outfit, but i *cannot* find the link on this machine...so it will have to wait...
why does no one like the tux? it has a picture of jesus embroidered on the back! how much classier does it get?
when you dis his tux, you make baby jesus cry.
DECEMBERISTS ONESIE!!
--
btw, I seem to be 10w1d pregnant today. Saw heartbeat at 6w6d but as you can imagine I am terrified of badness happening at u/s next Friday. Still haven't felt quite ready to update my sparse ol' blog...
oh, swannie - that's great news! i will be crossing my fingers for you - keep me posted!
i still have to order the decemberists onesie, but i don't think that's the one for coming home. they're either black or oatmeal, and i don't think milo would photograph best in either color.
Ohhh, of course--he photography angle! I do like the Zutano onesie things (Jamtart Baby) with the big dots, but are they too busy for pictures?
Good for you! You know, you're not going to jinx anything by planning ahead. Much as we might like to believe we have some control or input, it just doesn't work that way. Or so I've been telling myself as I shop for baby stuff...
I like the tux, by the way. I think it's worthy of a first portrait, but only if you & Justinian are wearing matching (or complimentary) tuxes.
Milo is going to be one cool baby. And I do think you should get the tux.
I like your taste. I see some Zutano on those web pages...my favorite!!!!!
But I am totally going to to have to suggest my all time favorite Barefoot Dreams romper....the softest of soft palest of pale rompers in the universe.
There's a Decemberists onesie??? Where??
I love the outfits (even the Jesus tux makes me giggle). And I'm so glad to see you planning for the future.
