Some creep was, probably, screwing with our settings to piggyback his own connection. If I ever find out who it is, I am so going into his fridge and drinking all of his beer.

Glad I could help! Now be sure to secure your network so that it doesn't happen again (or is less likely to, anyway). It is a creepy feeling, isn't it?
My husband warned his dad about securing his wireless connection, because not only could someone piggyback themselves to your line, they could also be doing child porn stuff and it could be traced back to you. So yeah Bronwyn!
