*this* close
in honor of our upcoming rounding of the corner into the last 100 days of milo's gestation, i gave in and put up a ticker. i've always resisted because i don't really do cute, but i thought a rope, and a finger pointing to how close i am to the end of it, made for some nice, really motherly imagery. unfortunately, due to our choice of template, you can't actually read how many days are left, but i'd have to pick a lighter-colored template - and re-do every bit of customization and linkage i've done - and that ain't happening. it took over a year just to do the pathetic little i've done, and you have no idea how challenged i was by pasting the ticker code into the template. very, very sad. so if you actually give a damn how much longer milo has to bake, just run your cursor over the box the ticker's in, highlight it, and squint real hard. it won't kill you. humor me.

lol...all that for a ticker...you crack me up.
You know, you COULD just change the color of that title box. But I don't want to make your head explode, so I won't make any special requests. lol
100 days!!! wheeeeee... :)
Oh, good. Now I don't need to look back for posts that actually say how far along you are and then count on my fingers to figure out your current status!
squintin' isn't helping me here, lady....i can't see a freaking thing!
Have a look at this screenshot. It involved changing just one tiny bit of the template code. If you like it, just say the word and I'll give you step-by-step guide. It's easy, I promise.
treggie! yes, please! rescue me! shower me with code!
okay, here we go...
1. Log into your blogger acccount and go to "change settings" for this blog.
2. Select the "Template" tag.
4. Scroll down to find this bit, which is fairly near the top
/* Header
--------------------------------------- */
#header {
width:660px;
margin:0 auto 10px;
border:1px solid #333;
}
5. After #333; but before the }, add the line:
background-color:#000099;
(Make sure you include all the punctuation!)
7. Select "preview" to check it's worked.
8. Select "Save template changes"
9. Select "republish index"
10. Have a nice cup of tea.
Told you it was simple.
The "#000099" is the HEX code for the blue colour. If you fancy experimenting with a different colour, you can find a chart of all the different codes here, but you need a medium tone becaue you've got both dark and light text in the header box.
Best of luck!
