may i interject a bit of morbid humor for a moment?
I really need to hear music that I can feel. Something powerful. Without thinking, I grabbed for a cd that never fails me. Laura then asked me what I was playing. To which I replied "And You Will Know Us By the Trail Of Dead"
Laura is in stitches.

must keep up the sense of humor or all is lost.
Glad you're keeping each other smiling... Keep fucking doing it! (Just had to get a "fuck" in there somehow) ;)
morbid humor is a godsend at times - i am a big fan of it myself. i guess it is good medicine.
I actually laughed out loud at that one. {{{hugs}}}
As I have always found in life's grossest moments - laugh lest you cry!
I have to admit I smiled at that one too:)
Laughter is the best medicine. Hell and dark humor the best sometimes. Thinking of you both.
I feel a really morbid playlist coming on. Scroll on by if you are easily offended!
Dead Can Dance
Dead Kennedys
Dayglow Abortions
Scraping Fetus From the Wheel
I'm sure there are others, but these are things I have actually owned and listened to at some point, in my callow youth of course. Interesting, though, when you think of how 20something white men seem to be obsessed with creating controversy through unsubtle allusions to death, particulary fetal or baby death. Is this because of the abortion debate do you think?
Yea gods, I have just proved yet again that I have a) a very sick sense of humour and b) an ability to make anything at all sound like it merits discussion in an undergraduate classroom. I think I need to get out more.
When I first heard Leonard Cohen sing, 'Like a baby stillborn, like a beast with his horn, I have torn everyone who reached out for me,' it meant nothing to me. Now I find it really offensive. And I've always loved Leonard - another favorite artist to think about death to.
