easter pageant
in an attempt to drop out of the running for biggest hillbilly on the street, we did serious yardwork today, enough to give me giant blisters on my thumbs, but we were rewarded for our hard work by all the gorgeous blooms we uncovered. and so, now, for your easter viewing pleasure (and a gratuitious chance for me to show off the new couch), here are the blooms we cut and brought in:

and look - the planter david and toni gave us for hans's birthday is shooting out its first, uh, shoots. yeah, that's the word.

I am sick with envy over your beautiful couch, and the shoot, too (says the woman who killed a bonsai).
Beautiful! I hope your blisters heal very soon. Happy Easter.
Pretty flowers! I like the couch, too! What is it that is sprouting?
Lorem, bonsais are extraordinary easy to kill, i wouldn't lose any sleep over that one...our house is a veritable bonsai death trap...
yes, we bought a bonsai at the same time we found out i was pregnant with hans, as an exercise in caring for another living thing...perhaps not the best choice. it acted like it hated us.
i'm not sure what the shoots are. the seeds were for assorted blue flowers. we'll see when they bloom what they are. if we don't kill them off, too.
Oh! Shoot! (Get it?)
If I could take everything cool about IKEA and stick it in a blender with the 1960's, that would be your apartment.
LOVE IT.
