back home, safe and (mostly) sound

Just checking in, knowing that many of you are waiting on word of the d&c.

Most importantly, the operating went without a hitch and Laura is home, safe. We've just finished a brilliant eggplant meal, courtesy of my mother - in which Laura had a few bites, a piece of garlic bread (licking her fingers and plate clean) and a cookie.

She's now upstairs resting, where I will soon join her to watch 49Up, thanks to our friends in the UK, and both look forward to a restlful night sleep.

Our perfect little home feels a bit lonely at the moment, but I have to say that it really does feel like home - and we're both so incredibly happy to be here, together in good health.

I'm so glad you have each other. Even the worst stuff is easier when you have the love of your life by your side. Rest and take care of each other. I love you both.

Hug her for me. And remember - MAKE SURE SHE DOESN'T GET CONSTIPATED! You'll both thank me for that later.

Hmn. I wish we had thought about constipation before we planned the menu.

See you tomorrow night. There will be pie and ice cream.

Please give Laura a nice foot or shoulder massage on my behalf...sorry Justin, that's just mean of me to make you do that! But please pass on my love to her:)

I'm thinking of you guys and am relieved that you are together and safe.

Enjoy 49Up - that whole series is fantastic isn't it?
