weekend whirl

a whirlwind trip to florida to see my mom and sister. i was in florida for about 18 hours, sleep and airport commute included, but i utilized the waking hours well. i got to play with my nephew all day and feed him but managed to evade more than a single diaper assist. and i told my mom and sister and brother-in-law (on his best behavior, btw) about little z. they were thrilled and tried to contribute "z" names (because we've decided z's real name will include a z), but everything they came up with included the word "zit" - was that a commentary on my breakouts?

other highlights: i puked on all four flight segments in two days, the most spectacular being all over the lavatory and including a sink clog which i had to clean out, after i mopped up the floor with the little alcohol wipes they store in the feminine hygiene compartment. fabulous. also, i woke up saturday with a chest cold - completely out of the blue. so i'm hacking up great yellow-green globs hourly, which of course triggers the gag reflex...it's a vicious cycle.

but i'm still happy. :)

:) I vote for Zora, if it's a girl...

Glad you had a good weekend!

We're actually in agreement on our name for a girl, but we're not sharing that information with anyone!

Ok, just between us girls ... it's Zydrunas.

I like Zoe ( I am convinced you are having a girl - it means "Life" in greek) and another Greek name, Zaphyri, (Za-FEE-ree) if it is a boy, but Z is a girl. :)

I was going to congratulate you on your seeming lack of barfing, but apparently I was too slow. Try to rest enough not to get a worse infection.

It won't be Zoe, nor Zachary, Sweetcoalminer. Those are a bit too popular at the moment.

I really do hope that my kid is never (insert first name) J or L (our last names). I was always the only Justin (my people being a bit ahead of that trend) in my classes - though because folks would always butcher my last name, I quickly became Justin J ...

For the child's sake, please give it a name with a Z already in it. Not a made-up name or creatively-spelled (as the parents like to say) version of an old one. Like... um... Luzy for Lucy. And I can't believe I just thought of that. That I even COULD.

Luz would be a appropriate name in our neighborhood, but VERY common. Thus, she probably won't be a Luzy.

By the way, we're settled on a girl name - for now. Boys? It could be anything - my front runner is Zoltan.

Or he can be a Scientologist and be Zenu. Or however it's spelled.

Zander is kind of popular - how about Zane? It's Hebrew and means God's Gracious gift.

And can I just tell you my girl name, even though you've picked yours?
Suzannah. Zanna for short!

Zorcon! Cory has a friend named Zoran, and when Cory saw him from across the street last week when Cory was sick, Zoran yelled, "Hey" and Cory said, "Don't come any closer, I'm really sick" and Zoran said "Good thing I have a really long dick."

If that isn't a perfect argument for Zoran, I don't know what is.
